What should I have prepared when I come in to purchase a vehicle?
Purchasing a vehicle is an important decision and at Fernelius, we want to make sure our customers are prepared for every step of the process. This includes making sure you have all the necessary documents and information with you when you come in to purchase your new vehicle.
Below are our requirements and recommendations of what should be brought with you when coming in to purchase or lease a vehicle. This list is to help save you time, money, and unnecessary trips or postage – it’s all here in one place!
For all customers purchasing or leasing, the following are required:
- Driver’s License
- Proof of Insurance
For all customers purchasing or leasing, the following may be required, situation dependent:
- Money Down (this may be required depending on the financial institution handling the financing and other factors such as being a first time buyer and/or a vehicle trade-in)
- Customers can use a credit card, a check, or both
- $5000 cap on credit cards
- $5000 cap on eCheck
- Proof of Income (this may be required depending on the financial institution handling the financing and other possible factors. You can bring 1 of the following examples)
- 2 recent pay stubs
- A bank statement showing your recent direct deposits
- Proof of residence (if your Driver’s License address does not match your current place of residence; you can bring 1 of the following examples)
- A bank statement with your address
- A utility bill with your address
- If military, a military assignment letter with your address
For all customers selling or trading in a vehicle, the following are required:
- Title of current vehicle
- Lien release of current vehicle (if applicable)
- 10 day payoff if you have a active loan on your vehicle (if applicable)
- 2nd set of keys
- Vehicle registration/license plate
The following are strongly recommended before coming in to purchase your new vehicle
- Confirm your access to the Apple App store and/or Google Play store
- Have access to your email on your phone (username & password)
Rebate Opportunities – New Toyota Vehicle Specific
- Military member (Military Rebate)*
- Customers must create an account with ID.me to take advantage of this rebate program. - Make note of the email that is used for the ID.me account, we will need it to validate the rebate

If you’re a member of a tribe
- Tribal ID
- Tax exemption form (depending on the tribe, they may require a completed tax exemption form prior to the vehicle purchase)
